Lynn writes serious comedies that reveal her affection for underdogs, strivers, and driveway heroes, especially women. She is a recent New Dramatists alum and was named a "2022 Visionary Playwright" by Theater Masters.

 

Recent plays include: The Ushers (Theater Masters commission); The Overview Effect (EST/Sloan Commission; World Premiere at Contemporary American Theater Festival, July 2023); The Imperialists: A Farce For Our Times (Theatreworks New Works Festival, Silicon Valley); Washed Up On The Potomac (San Francisco Playhouse; The Pool, NYC; Baltimore Centerstage; Ensemble Studio Theatre); Legerdemain (New Georges Audrey Residency); The Firebirds Take The Field, inspired by the true story of the ticking girls of LeRoy, NY (EST/Sloan Commission; Rivendell Theatre, Chicago) Also: Women’s Project (Apple Cove); New Georges (Goldor $ Mythyka: A Hero is Born); UCSB Launch Pad commission/production (Bernhard: A Refugee's Journey); Working Theater (Back From The Front); Playing On Air (I Love You with Bill Irwin and Steve Boyer, directed by David Auburn), Studio Theatre D.C./Willow Cabin (Nighthawks); ATL, Barrington Stage, New Group, Geva, New Harmony Project, SPACE, The Lark.

 

Current commissions: Flo!, a new musical about Black feminist icon Florynce Kennedy, as well as Betty Friedan and Helen Gurley Brown; Theatreworks Silicon Valley. Lynn is co-writing the book with Pia Wilson, music by Rona Siddiqui. Flo! received a 2023 NAMT grant and was workshopped at Goodspeed and at Theatreworks Silicon Valley in 2023, and was included in the Johnny Mercer Writers Grove at Goodspeed Musicals in 2024.

Also, The Claudias, in which a group of forgotten women all named Claudia reclaim their stories; Red Bull Theater’s inaugural New Play Commission.

 

Lynn recently sold two TV pilots to a major network and a studio with many more in the pipeline. She is co-creator/co-writer of award winning web series Darwin, directed by Carrie Preston and Gregg Ivan Smith, and creator/writer of the soon to launch comedic web series, Gasbag.

 

She is also a co-founder of The Pool, a playwright-driven, autonomous, pop-up theatre company now in its third incarnation.

 

Lynn grew up in Gary, Indiana, has a B.A. in Theater Arts from Brandeis University, and resides in New York City with her beloved family.​
