Set during war time, when up is down and love could mean death, 16-year old Bernhard tries to keep his promise to his grandmother to "not die." But is living an option too? In this dark comedy, a refugee’s journey to find his estranged mother leads him into the depths of his own heart and soul.

A minimum of five actors needed to play many roles but WAY more actors can be utilized.

Bernhard only plays his one role but all other roles can be doubled. However, doubling is not required.

This play has a warped reality so age and gender is flexible. Even though Bernhard is 16-18, a youthful actor in their 30s could play the role. A young actor could play Grandmother, etc.
